If you’ve had trouble ordering Valve’s new OLED Steam Deck, you’re not alone. Orders opened at 1 pm ET on Thursday and many people had trouble completing the purchase. Some Edge Employees trying to purchase a Steam Deck OLED were stuck with the device in their cart but unable to pay.
As of this writing, more than two hours after the orders were posted, things appear to be calming down. One Edge The employee who had been trying to get one of the new models was finally able to check it out. And I’ve seen many people report successful purchases on the Steam Deck subreddit.
Within minutes of opening orders, Recognized valve that there are problems with the payment and he said he was trying to solve them. Approximately two hours later, at 3:11 pm ET, said “We believe we have tracked down the issues causing cart and checkout instability on Steam.”
Update November 16 at 3:34 pm ET: Valve says it believes it has fixed the problems.
