Val Kilmer has admitted to being a slave to love in his new memoir as he recalls flirting with some of the world’s most famous women, including Angelina Jolie, Cher, Carly Simon and Cindy Crawford.
But the 60-year-old admits he’s still in pain for actress Daryl Hannah, who writes in his new book I am your blueberry: “God knows I’ve been heartbroken. But Daryl was by far the most painful. ‘
He added, “I knew I would love her with all her heart forever, and that love has lost none of its strength. I am still in love with Daryl. When we finally broke up, I cried every day for six months. ‘
The love life of the 1980s heartthrob eventually ran dry, after a whirlwind of love affairs that began when he became 21-year-old Cher’s lover and she was in her mid-thirties.
The Batman actor found himself single and running out of money losing land investments in 2015, living in a Malibu cottage with the postman and local burrito man as his closest friends.
“I was a weird beach bum and it was bliss – then bliss turned into chaos. I cough up clotted blood. I assumed this was the day of my death, “Kilmer confesses in his memoir describing his lost loves and lifelong spiritual journey.

Kilmer describes how he called an ambulance and walked up the wooden stairs from his guesthouse to the Pacific Coast Highway so that the ambulance could find him.
He woke up in a Santa Monica hospital after a tracheotomy for throat cancer.
His longtime lover Cher had transferred him to David Geffen’s School of Medicine at UCLA, where he underwent chemo and radiation for two months.
Kilmer, a lifelong Christian scientist who follows both his parents’ beliefs, does not deny that he had cancer, but said accepting the diagnosis seemed unreal.
Kilmer’s memoirs describes his lost loves and lifelong spiritual journey
Perhaps his healing was by the hand of God and not by doctors, he suggests.
“I don’t deny a miraculous cure,” writes Kilmer, reflecting on the cancer that had swollen his tongue and blocked his lymph ducts, which required two tracheotomies.
“The cancer miraculously healed much faster than the doctors predicted.”
Kilmer confesses that he never felt alone and heard his hero Mark Twin say to him, “The fear of death stems from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is ready to die at any time. “
He recognized this as his chance to prove that he really believed in God, so he called his spiritual practitioner who suggested calling the ambulance first. They prayed together, and he felt calm.
“My healing is stable, but has been slow so far. Speaking, once my joy and lifeblood, has become an hourly battle, ”he writes, comparing his voice to Marlon Brandon’s after taking down several bottles of tequila.
Now when he talks, he has to put a finger on the opening in his throat to be understood.
Kilmer said his focus is on listening and praying, saying, “I’m vain, but I’m working on it, honey, I’m working on it.”
Kilmer was born in Playa del Rey, California, but his parents moved to Chatsworth on the vast northern border of the San Fernando Valley when his block was mowed to create an LAX airstrip.

His father was a distributor of aerospace equipment, stingy and generous with himself, he bought a Cadillac but did not let his mother buy curtains for the living room.
Chatsworth was “ the least glamorous corner in LA, ” but Kilmer gives the neighborhood credit for having a starving but unremarkable spirit.
At the age of eight, Kilmer secretly started smoking his uncle’s Pall Mall cigarettes in his tree house – a habit he deeply regrets.
He read books by Mary Baker Eddy, founder of The Church of Christ, Scientist about divine love and felt the thrill of life.
He felt ‘a beatnik’: writing plays and poems, admiring Marlon Brando and feeling spiritually ambitious with a five-year plan to achieve self-realization.
“I was natural and extremely theatrical. I liked attention. I liked to be emotional. I loved to talk. It didn’t matter that I usually didn’t know what I was talking about, ”he writes.
Kilmer escaped from the dreaded San Fernando Valley to New York City – where Marlon Brando, “the north star of my theatrical fantasies” had studied 33 years earlier.
He enrolled at the Julliard School, the youngest ever to be admitted to the highly acclaimed performing arts conservatory.
His first goal was to get rid of his California accent.
Kilmer graduated and then fell under Cher’s spell when she picked him up in town.

“We both liked to laugh and kept doing that for over a year.
“Cher acted in intoxicating glamor, and I, a Valley boy, fell under her spell.”
After all that fun, he writes that they were now less lovers and really best friends.

Ellen Barkin followed, a romance that was “as erratic as whirlwind.”
“I loved her and we had great days,” he recalled her smile and the softness of her hair.
But she became another who escaped, “no doubt because of my uncontrollable worries, my neglect,” Kilmer adds.
Kilmer fled to Santa Fe and eventually joined Joanne Whalley (pictured together), an actress he’d met years earlier and watched her from afar while she had no interest in him. Now they fell in love and got married in New Mexico, on their honeymoon on the island of Marlon Brando in Tahiti

Carly Simon intervened soon after the two met at a party in New York. Kilmer had arrived with Cher, but she had strayed.
Kilmer quickly fell in love and wrote, “I wanted to be with Carly every day for the rest of my life.”
But that faded, he suspected when Carly realized he was hopelessly in love with her.

Now they fell in love and got married in New Mexico and honeymooned on the island of Marlon Brando in Tahiti.
They promised to stay together forever, but that promise faded when they all wanted to film in a different city at the same time.
They eventually broke up, but not before they had two children. Their relationship was unraveled when she shut him out of the parental role, making Kilmer rarely see his children.
Kilmer’s childhood hero Marlon Brando, then in his 60s, came to call and wanted to meet Kilmer after seeing him play Jim Morrison in the movie The Doors.
The Hollywood legend invited Kilmer to his home on Mulholland Drive, and their friendship blossomed.
Brando became Kilmer’s father figure and listened to him for hours as he talked, comforted him and made him emotionally healthy again.
In return, Kilmer read Brando, poems by Yeats, Walt Whitman, Shakespeare sonnets. Sometimes Brando cried.
Brando also gossiped about women, claiming he had an affair with Jackie Kennedy in the White House kitchen.
Next in love land for Val was Cindy Crawford in 1996 while divorcing the mother of his children.

“Oh God, I loved and continued to love Cindy, I thought I could have died of her love because the pleasure of it was just too much to bear. I would die of happiness, “he gushed.
They started traveling the world together, but as the most requested supermodel, she was always a step away on her way to another city.
Angelina Jolie saved Kilmer from his loneliness and she was “perhaps the most soulful and serious of them all,” Kilmer mused. He moved to Jaycee Gossettt for three years in 1999, but then let her slip away.
Then came Daryl Hannah, “the 6″ tall Amazonian tower with delicate power. ”
Kilmer’s heart still hurts Daryl and he writes, “I knew I would love her with all her heart forever, and that love has lost none of its power.”
Now without the company of a loved one and loved so intensely, Kilmer feels he has nothing left to give in a romantic relationship and feels lonely part of every day.

He founded an art factory in Brentwood and with a new lease of life, he feels that he is no longer a slave to love and a hopeless romantic.
He is focused on friends, his art, his foundation and his spiritual growth.
