V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000 champ David Reynolds reveals his bizarre MEAT-ONLY diet
V8 Supercars Bathurst 1000 champion David Reynolds reveals the bizarre MEAT-ONLY diet that has seen him lose ‘a bull**t amount of weight quickly’
- V8 Supercars driver David Reynolds has opted for a carnivorous diet this year.
- Many athletes have turned their backs on meat for marginal gains.
- However, Reynolds says that a meat-only diet has replenished his energy and clarity.
- The runner typically eats steak and eggs for breakfast on this radical new diet.
A legion of athletes are saying no to meat in a bid to make “fringe gains” in their chosen profession, but V8 Supercars star David Reynolds has gone in the opposite direction and reaped the benefits.
Reynolds opted to follow a carnivorous diet, whereby he is restricted to only animal and meat products, earlier in the year, excluding all other foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds in the process.
The diet stems from the controversial belief that ancient human populations ate primarily meat and fish, and high-carbohydrate diets are blamed for today’s high rate of chronic disease.
Supercars driver David Reynolds has lifted the lid on his controversial new meat-only diet
A meat-only diet is claimed to help with weight loss, improve mood, and regulate blood sugar, among other health issues.
And Reynolds, who eats foods such as eggs, organ meats and marrow, insists he now feels “amazing” with renewed energy and clarity after shifting seven kilograms.
“I train all the time and I’ve never moved the needle at all, every year I always gain a little more weight, it doesn’t come off unless you’re really strict with yourself, but then you get hungry and you hate your life and food tastes like shit ‘ Reynolds said via The daily telegraph.
‘Then I heard about this diet, my friends have done very well just eating meat.
‘So I started it and thought, ‘What have I got to lose?’ and immediately (lost weight) very quickly, like a number of bulls weight**t quickly.
The Australian noticed that he was gradually gaining weight every year and could not change it.
However, a meat-only diet consisting of eggs, organ meats, steak and marrow has caused Reynolds (left) to lose seven kilograms and says he has more energy and clarity.
‘I have lost seven kilos, most of it in the first month.
“I feel good because I always struggle with energy levels during the day and I come in at lunch time and I feel bad, but now I have stable energy all day, I feel amazing.”
The 2017 Bathurst winner previously followed a paleo diet, but now starts the day eating steak and eggs, and sometimes mixes things up by having liver earlier in the day, which gets him through until dinner.
“I probably didn’t poop for like two days and then I had cum for a day and then it was back to normal, so eventually your body adjusts to what you eat,” Reynolds added.
‘I’ll keep it until something happens… I’ll take blood samples and monitor myself, but if you feel better, I don’t understand why it’s not better for you.’
