Several fans expressed skepticism Sunday after Usher’s entire X/ Twitter account was temporarily deleted, shortly after the arrest of his mentor Sean “Diddy” Combs on Monday in connection with federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
The eight-time Grammy winner, 45, said in a post on Sunday: “They hacked my account and damn! They got away! See you tonight at the Intuit Dome.”
Several users responded to the Dallas native, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, on the thread, saying the timing seemed too coincidental.
“You must think we’re stupid,” one user said, while another added: “What? Haha, the timing is JUST a coincidence, right?”
Another told the Yeah! singer: ‘Yeah, yeah,’ while another asked: ‘Did they really hack your account or are you not telling us anything?’

One user said the account deletion could be a harbinger of trouble ahead for the star following the arrest of her musical mentor.

One user defended Usher, saying: ‘I’ve been tweeted this EVERYWHERE, that your account was hacked and these people are spreading fake news. GO AWAY KING!’
Usher had not been directly accused of any criminal conduct in the case against Combs.
In a lawsuit filed by Dawn Richard, Usher was accused of being present (along with Ne-Yo) while Combs physically abused his ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
The relationship between Usher and Diddy spans decades, as Combs executive produced Usher’s first album, 1994’s Usher; and resided with Diddy as a teenager learning the business in the 1990s.
