US soldiers go viral and share hilarious reasons for joining the military

A group of US military soldiers have gone viral after sharing their hilarious reasons for joining the military, including money and nothing else to do.

Daryl Tyrone Littles II, 24, from Augusta, Georgia, and his friend Pvt. Kicklighter caught their colleagues by surprise when they asked them to explain why they were employed.

Daryl, who is an E-4 with the United States National Guard, uploaded the video to his TikTok page @RTLnews_, and it has since spread like wildfire across social media.

He joined the United States Army because he was inspired by his father and grandfather, who were both in the military, but his fellow soldiers had different reasons.

In the video, he walked around the base asking men and women the same question: “Why did you join the army?”

Obviously, many of them mentioned the first reason that came to their mind.

“I joined the military because I was in college and I have nothing else to do,” Specialist Jefferson replied, while Private First Class Peña admitted, “I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Corporal Jenkins took a moment to consider the question.

The footage has been reposted by Twitter user @Krys_King, where it has been viewed more than 5.3 million times and many people are freaked out by the surprising answers.

Commenting on the video, a Twitter user said, “Ppl really thinks we joined for some holier than you reason … I joined so they could afford my transition and college.”

Others actually found the video depressing as many soldiers cited money as the reason.

“This is actually sad,” commented someone else.

“This just goes to show that if the university was free and the minimum wage higher, no one would have joined the military, no one,” urged another.

Daryl explained that no one thought the viral video would “explode like this” when he filmed it.

“We’re joking now that the command team is going to get me to the office and talk to me about it!” he said.

Some of the soldier’s reactions were real and some were just joking. And Kelly ended up getting her $ 20,000, ‘he added.

Daryl admitted that “being in the military can be intense,” but he will always recommend enlisting.

“I’ve been in some intense situations and witnessed some protests this year,” he said. You will need to set aside some personal feelings that you may need to protect and serve.
