US Soccer’s Alex Morgan is a ‘scared’ husband who shouldn’t be allowed into the delivery room if she gives birth

US Women’s Soccer star Alex Morgan will give birth to her first child, a daughter, next month – but with COVID-19 patients filling hospitals, she faces the scary possibility of having her baby without her husband, LA Galaxy player Servando Carrasco.

The 30-year-old World Cup winner wins the new issue of Attraction this month, flaunting her baby bump in a series of beautiful beach photos. But while she looks serene in the images, she reports that partners are banned from some delivery rooms, troubling her.

“That certainly frightened me,” she told the magazine. “I wouldn’t feel comfortable delivering without my husband or my doula, but especially my husband.”

The pandemic can greatly change the way her daughter’s birth occurs.

Initially, she planned to be born in the hospital – without painkillers.

“I should be able to give birth without numbing my body,” she said. “I have suffered a lot of serious sports injuries and suffered a lot of pain, but nothing will be like giving birth. I feel that if I don’t experience that, I never really know what I can do, what I’m capable of. ‘

But if Servando can’t be there, she can switch to a home birth so he can be around and “have such an intense but beautiful moment of life there.”

“I should be able to give birth without numbing my body,” she said. “I have sustained many major sports injuries and endured a lot of pain, but nothing is like giving birth”

Some of Alex’s other plans are also changing. Once the star athlete, she announced that she planned to train during pregnancy so she could play in the 2020 Olympics.

Until she was seven months pregnant, she did intense workouts six days a week, including on-field sessions, strength training, spin classes, and running. Then she switched to slightly less intensive workouts, including jogging, physical therapy, pelvic floor physiotherapy, prenatal yoga.

But further On March 24, the International Olympic Committee announced that the Olympic Games would be postponed to 2021.

Alex agreed that this was the “right decision” despite the training time she had spent.

In the new Glamor interview, she also addressed people who questioned her decision to become pregnant at the peak of her career.

It’s not that women can’t do both – our bodies are incredible – it’s the fact that this world isn’t really set up for women to thrive. That was one thing I thought, “Do I want to be public with this?” This is my body, my family, my life, “she said.

Alex had previously shown a bit of her training. In February, the U.S. Soccer Women’s National Team’s Twitter account shared a video of members of the team heading to practice in California – and among the players, Alex was seen fully dressed in training gear rubbing her baby bump .

The 14-second video shows members of the women’s soccer team walking out of a coach, all dressed in matching blue exercise gear.

Number four of the vehicle was Alex, who wore a green top, shorts, matching socks and sneakers. When she turned and saw the camera, she smiled and rubbed her hand over her bump as she raised her eyebrows.

She was immediately followed by Kelley O’Hara, who opened her mouth wide in surprise and pointed at Alex, clearly impressed by her teammate.

‘Special guest!’ she said.

While every pregnancy is different, women usually get the go-ahead to exercise anywhere, especially if they were active before getting pregnant.

Alex, who has built a hugely successful career as an athlete, clearly would never slow down because of something like a baby bump.

She first made the announcement about her pregnancy in October, just three and a half months after her FIFA Women’s World Cup victory.

“We are already in love and we haven’t even met her yet. The newest member of the Carrasco family is coming soon, ”she wrote.

Alex and Servando, 31, were married on December 31, 2014.

In images she shared on social media, they posed together on a rocky beach, smiling broadly at each other.

Servando held up a small onesie with the words “ready or not” while Alex, dressed in a ribbed pink dress, wore a placard that read “Baby Girl” and April 2020.

A due date in April means the pair may have conceived in mid-August or July 7 – the day Alex and the U.S. women’s soccer team won the World Cup.

And the star admitted that their baby is a bit of a souvenir of the celebrations along the way.

“We are so excited to grow our family,” said Alex People. “She’s the best World Cup present I could have asked for.”

Servando also shared a message on Instagram that said, “I can’t wait to meet my girl.”

The couple are already parents to two-dog pets, who joined them for their pregnancy photo shoot.

Having a baby will likely change things for the couple, who have had a long-distance marriage: Servando’s team is in California, while Alex’s is in Florida.

“It is far from ideal to be this far from your wife,” Servando told Pro Soccer USA in 2018. “We know this is temporary. We can only play professional football for five to six years. We should take advantage of this and know that when we are finished playing, we will be together. ‘

In November, Alex showed her little baby bump as she helped open a new mini-field in Gardena, California that will give people in the community a safe space to enjoy and practice the sport.

She showed off her skills at the event, kicking a ball around without hiding her growing belly in a simple gray T-shirt, black leggings and a black zip-up jacket.

It was during the event that Alex said she planned to play in the 2020 Olympics.

She said, “I hope to get back on the field as soon as possible. After a healthy baby, I want to return to the national team and look forward to playing in Tokyo. ‘

“I’m just pregnant, I have time for this because I don’t train as much as I was,” she said. “But I’m still training a bit.”

“My goal is to play [in the Olympics]Alex told Reuters. “It is clearly a short window, but if possible I want to represent my country.

“I hope to get back on the field as soon as possible. After a healthy baby, I want to return to the national team and look forward to playing in Tokyo. ‘

Alex said she was inspired by the many female athletes who have become mothers who have preceded her and proved that it is possible to have both a family and a successful sports career.

“There are so many women who have returned to their respective sport after pregnancy and can continue to have a successful family while playing the sport they love at the highest level,” she said.

“And I intend to follow in those footsteps and be one of those women who have a family and carry my daughter around while I go to the next town to play. And I still want to keep enjoying the sport I’ve been playing all my life. ‘
