US media said that President Joe Biden will announce his candidacy for re-election in 2024 on April 25. The aforementioned date marks the anniversary of the day Biden joined the presidential race against Donald Trump in 2019. The eighty-year-old Biden is the oldest president in the history of the United States, and he will be eighty-six at the end of a possible second term. So far, Trump seems to be his main opponent on the Republican side.
On Thursday, a number of American media suggested that the president would announce Joe Biden Next week he is running for re-election in 2024.
The Washington Post and CNN, in particular, quoted unidentified sources, that Biden will launch his presidential campaign via a video clip.
The newspaper stated that the announcement will be made on April 25, the anniversary of the day that Biden joined the presidential race in 2019 against Donald Trump.
However, the newspaper report stressed that the plans of the Biden team have not ended yet, indicating that the announcement could be postponed.
The eighty-year-old Biden is the oldest president in the history of the United States, and he will be eighty-six at the end of a possible second term.
So far, it seems that Trump is Biden’s main opponent on the Republican side, which will open the door to an electoral scene reminiscent of the year 2020, when the elections showed the political rift in the country.
And last week, Biden concluded a trip to Ireland, confirming at the end of the approaching date of officially announcing his candidacy for the 2024 elections.
Biden told the press before his return to the United States: “I told you that my plan is to run again” for the presidential elections, adding: “We will announce this relatively soon.”
Trump recently pledged, in a television interview, to “never withdraw” from the race for the White House, despite criminal charges being brought against him, stressing that Biden is not eligible to run again.
