Officials are asking people to avoid US Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington after reports of an “active shooter.”

The base houses I Corps and the 62nd Airlift Wing. I Corps is part of the U.S. Army Pacific and currently oversees Army units in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Army Headquarters is home to more than 40,000 soldiers across the Indo-Pacific. In addition to Washington, members are also stationed in Alaska and Hawaii.
