Nearly 22 million sets of Miniverse toys have been recalled due to serious risks of burns and skin irritation and respiratory problems.

The recall includes a range of Make it Mini sets that contain liquid resins that can cause injuries to both children and adults.

Children use the resin to make mini versions of everyday items, such as food, oven mitts, donuts, etc., to match with dolls.

When it has been used and has become solid, it is safe. But until then, in its liquid form, it can be dangerous.

It includes prohibited levels of chemicals called “acrylates,” the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) found.

Customers will be able to choose between a full refund or replacement.

Resin packaging can resemble foods such as a jar of peanut butter, maple syrup, or a milk container. Resins, when hardening, imitate food.

The toys, made in China, were sold at Target, Walmart, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Aldi, Hobby Lobby and other stores nationwide, and online at Amazon.com from October 2022 to June 2024.

Toys sold individually in spheres cost between $7 and $13. The games were also sold in a box for between $14 and $52, depending on the model.
