One of Australia’s biggest retail brands has issued an urgent recall for a popular boys’ sleepwear product over fears it could be easily set on fire.

Kmart recalled the Little Boys Sleep Twosie-Dino on Thursday after discovering the pajamas did not meet mandatory safety standards for children’s sleepwear.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said the product did not carry the correct fire hazard label.

“There is a risk of serious burns if affected sleepwear is exposed to a source of heat or flame,” the consumer safety agency said.

“Consumers should immediately stop wearing the product and return it to the nearest Kmart store for a refund.”

The duo was sold between February 5 and 26 this year in Australia, New Zealand and online.

The affected product is available in sizes 2 to 8.

The ACCC urged affected customers to contact Kmart.
