Urgent recall for thousands of vehicles made by popular car manufacturer

Thousands of Skoda cars are being recalled due to possible brake failure.

Skoda Superb and Octavia models sold between 2020 and 2024 are being recalled because the heat shield between the brake master cylinder and exhaust may have been installed incorrectly.

As a result, affected 3801 vehicles could have a melted brake fluid reservoir connection.

This could cause brake fluid leaks and drivers could experience reduced braking performance, the recall warned.

The leak could also cause a vehicle fire.

“A reduction in braking performance and/or a vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders and/or property damage.” “said the federal Department of Transportation in its withdrawal.

Additionally, Volkswagon Group Australia also warned owners of Cupra Formentor and Leon vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2022 about the same issue.

These cars could also experience reduced braking performance and/or a vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death.

Visit the federal government’s vehicle recall website to see if your Skoda’s vehicle identification number (VIN) or your Cupra’s VIN is involved in any of the recalls.

Owners should contact a Volkswagen dealer to schedule a free appointment.
