Several varieties of frozen waffles have been recalled, including Walmart’s Great Value and Target’s Good & Gather, due to possible listeria contamination.
More than 500 products manufactured by TreeHouse Foods and sold in the United States and Canada are believed to be infected.
In addition to Walmart and Target, the recalled products are also sold at Dollar General, Aldi’s, Food Lion, Tops, Hannaford, HEB, PriceChopper, Publix, Schnucks, Southeastern Grocers and Harris Teeter.
Some of the items include Best Choice Chocolate Chip Waffles 12.3oz, Clover Valley Buttermilk Waffles 12.3oz, Tops Blueberry Waffles 12.3oz, Good and Gather Homemade Waffles 12.3oz oz, 12.3 oz Good and Gather Homemade Waffles, 12.3 oz Good and Gather Homemade Waffles, and 12.3 oz Great Value Buttermilk Waffles.
in a Press releaseThe manufacturer said consumers should check to see if they have any of the recalled products in their freezers, suggesting they throw them out or return them to the place of purchase for credit.
Several varieties of frozen waffles, including Walmart’s Great Value and Target’s Good & Gather, have been recalled due to possible listeria contamination.
“TreeHouse Foods, Inc. is voluntarily recalling certain frozen waffle products listed below due to the possibility that they are contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes,” TreeHouse Foods wrote in a statement.
‘This recall is being carried out with the knowledge of the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
Consumers and retailers can identify the UPC on the back of the box and the lot code and expiration date of these products on the bottom of the box.
“Consumers should check their freezers for any of the products listed above and dispose of them or return the recalled product to the place of purchase for credit.”
He also confirmed that no cases of listeria infection caused by frozen waffles have been reported so far.

‘To date there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses related to the recalled products. “Anyone who is concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider,” the company suggested.
Eating foods with Listeria monocytogenes, the full name of the bacteria, can cause a person to develop a listeriosis infection, which is extremely dangerous for older adults, people with compromised immune systems, and pregnant women along with their newborns.
Symptoms of listeriosis may include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and seizures. All of these symptoms can appear after diarrhea or other digestive problems.
Pregnant women can suffer miscarriages, stillbirths, or premature delivery of their baby if they are infected with listeria.

This recall comes one week after BrucePac recalled more than 9.9 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry that were contaminated with Listeria.
The Oklahoma-based company announced that the products were produced from June 19, 2024 to October 8, 2024. They were shipped to other stores and distributors throughout the United States.
Product labels and the list of products affected by the recall will be available imminently, according to a notice from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
For now, any product bearing establishment numbers ‘51205 or P-51205’ within or below the USDA inspection mark is subject to recall.
