Australians have been urgently warned about the need to go outside with electric blankets during the winter months after a house nearly caught fire.
A woman who lives in the Sutherland Shire, south of Sydney, was left horrified after walking into her room on Friday night and seeing her bed on fire.
He immediately called Triple Zero and closed the door, with his quick thinking he saved the rest of the house from burning down.
Electrical company Bhamtech Data and Electrical, which specializes in cabling for telephone and Internet services, shared photos of the bedroom that was completely destroyed after the fire.
The company was called in to help customers after the inferno.

‘Everyone is safe, fortunately. “It’s a devastating sight, even so,” the company said in a post.
“Be sure you understand all safety measures associated with your electrical appliances.”
The shocking photographs show the headboard of the bed completely burned and the bedroom walls also charred by the fire.
Another close-up photo showed that all that remained of the electric blanket were some melted wires and cables.
It is understood no one was injured in the fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW has been contacted for comment.
