A professor has been fired from his university position and now faces a charge of aggravated sexual harassment after he was caught making skirts for women at a fair.
Viral images shared by a victim, who identified herself as Melissa, showed Miguel Pérez, 40, sliding his left sneaker and placing it under the skirt of a woman who was placing an order for food at the 2024 Puebla Fair in the central city of Puebla. May 2.
Perez could be seen stepping aside and attempting to place the sneaker between the unsuspecting woman’s shoes to get a better look.
Melissa later approached the woman to alert her before Perez headed straight for the exit while her boyfriend confronted him.
‘Where are you going daddy,’ Melissa’s partner asked Pérez. ‘You’re filming with your sneakers!’

Perez continued walking without responding and was pulled by the collar as he made his way through the crowd.
As he approached two police officers, Melissa’s boyfriend managed to grab him by the collar of his shirt.
“That bastard is filming women with a camera on the bottom,” he said.
Pérez tried to mislead the police by taking a step forward with his right foot, but Melissa’s boyfriend pointed to her left shoe and placed his finger on the camera.
“It’s there, look,” he said.
Perez was handcuffed at the scene and escorted to a tent, where he was questioned and then taken to a local police station.
He is in preventive detention while the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Puebla continues its investigation.

In a video statement released Wednesday, a visibly shaken Melissa said she was under the impression authorities would not prosecute Perez, so she decided to share the footage on her social media accounts, including X.
The district attorney’s office reportedly attempted to resolve the incident by suggesting he pay his victim $590, which she refused.
“Even though it’s a misdemeanor, I think no woman would want to be seen, especially without her consent, like this guy did,” she said.
Local media revealed that Pérez shared sexual content from women through a Telegram chat group.
He was fired from the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) in Mexico last Thursday.
‘In relation to the events that occurred this day at the Puebla Fair, the BUAP emphasizes that it will not tolerate this type of inappropriate behavior that harms the social life and privacy of people, such as what the member of the institution’s teaching staff did . ,’ the university said in a statement.
