Serrato was one of the people who bought the alcohol.
The 18-year-old had only been at college two weeks when he participated in a drunken binge at an off-campus fraternity.
Serrato’s lawyer at the time told ABC that the incident “had an enormous effect on several people, including Mr. Serrato and his family.”

Serrato went on to work at Fresno State as an assistant fraternity and sorority life advisor.
He later became an anti-hazing activist and used his experience to give speeches at universities across the country.
