University of Liverpool launches new ‘Divok Origi Scholarship’ after kindhearted Reds striker offers to cover tuition and living expenses of two students for next academic year

Reds striker Divock Origi launches a new scholarship in partnership with the University of Liverpool.
The Divock Origi Scholarship is offered on a competitive basis to two students from the city of Liverpool.
Successful candidates will start a bachelor’s degree program at the university in September 2021.

The scholarship covers tuition fees (£9,250 per annum) and provides an annual payment of £3,000 towards living expenses.
About the program, Origi said: “From the perspective of a cause and understanding the position of influence and impact that I have, I know how important it is to have a chance, while also really believing in the ability of future generations to achieve greatness.’

As Professor Gavin Brown, pro-vice chancellor for education at the University of Liverpool, said: ‘We at the University of Liverpool strongly believe that anyone who chooses to participate in higher education should be able to do so. .
