University in New South Wales in emergencies after reports from a shooter on campus
A University of New South Wales has been closed and a police operation is underway following reports that there was a shooter on campus.
Employees and students from Southern Cross University in Lismore in the northeast of the state were told to stay indoors on Tuesday afternoon.
Richmond Police District officers hurried to the campus after an allegedly threatening phone call had been made to the university.
The university went to Facebook shortly before 2 p.m. to issue a statement that the campus was in an emergency situation.
& # 39; The police are currently on site and all students and staff are advised to stay inside until they get full permission & # 39 ;, the statement said.
