This is the heartwarming moment a United Airlines pilot gave his flight attendant mother a shout-out as they worked together for the first time in two years.
Cole Doss, 31, praised mother Moya Hagerty Doss during the flight by Virginia to Madrid on July 25.
In front of all the passengers, Doss read his speech from a tablet while being cheered by the passengers.
His mother, who sat next to him as he spoke, became visibly choked up and emotional at her son’s kind words.
Doss has worked as a pilot for United Airlines for two years and his mother, Moya, has been a flight attendant for more than 45 years

Pilot Cole Doss, 31, made a special announcement after sharing expected weather conditions, shouting out his mother Moya Hagerty Doss on July 25.
“One of the flight attendants working with us today is not only an exceptional flight attendant, but also my exceptional mother.
“Today marks the first time in two years that we have been able to work together at United. She has been one of the biggest pillars of my life and career as a pilot since my very first flying lesson.”
Doss has been a pilot with United for two years and shared the emotional moment on his Instagram on August 8.
Moya, his mother, has worked for the airline for more than 45 years.
Doss continued: “I am extremely honored and excited to fly her for the first time today and to share this experience with all of you on our flight to Madrid. To my mother, I love you and to everyone on board, welcome aboard our family-friendly airspace.”
The caption for Doss’ Instagram post also touched hearts.
‘The highlight of my career came to life when I was able to travel with my mother and fly with her for the first time! She has been my biggest advocate for becoming a pilot.
‘We had the best trip to Madrid together. I will never forget this experience and everyone who made it possible,” Doss said.
United Airlines even responded to the post saying, “Family that flies together, stays together! Thanks mom!’
Moya told TODAY.com that her son’s announcement really surprised her. ‘I was suprised. It was really sweet,” she added.

Although it was a beautiful moment, Doss was a bit thrown off when he heard his mother assisting the passengers

In addition to spending time together during the flight, the mother-son duo made the most of their trip to Spain and explored during their 26-hour layover

Passengers gave Doss and his mother a standing ovation for his heartfelt speech to her during the flight from Virginia to Spain in July
Aviation runs in the family, as Doss’ father and sister are also flight attendants, just like his mother.
‘I only know my schedule about 24 hours in advance and when I was allocated a flight to Madrid I told my mother. She was originally booked on a flight to Tokyo and was able to adjust her schedule to work with me. She had never been to Madrid before, so she was super excited,” Doss told TODAY.com.
Although it was a beautiful moment, Doss was a bit thrown off when he heard his mother was assisting the passengers.
“During recess, Cole heard me and thought I was talking to him,” Moya said.
In addition to spending time together during the flight, the mother-son duo made the most of their trip to Spain and explored during their 26-hour layover.
The two stopped at El Palacio Real de Madrid and Plaza Mayor, two major attractions in the area.
Most of all, Doss wanted his mother to get the recognition he thought she deserved, as he said, “My mother has so many years of dedicated service as a flight attendant and also as a mother.
‘These two groups sometimes do not get the appreciation they deserve.’ Doss and Moya are already trying to coordinate their next business trip in the air.
