A community has rallied against an “unhinged” neighbour after a mother discovered her daughter’s graduation photo had been maliciously torn in two following a delivery error.
A British father took to the popular subreddit r/CasualUK to explain that the professional photograph, which cost £30, had been delivered to the wrong address.
Despite the mother’s efforts to locate the package through a local Facebook campaign, she was horrified to discover that the neighbour had not only opened it but had also deliberately torn up the treasured photograph.
The attack sparked outrage both online and within the local community, with calls for the neighbour to be publicly named and shamed.

Known as u/Darkwaxer on the social news site, the mother explained: ‘Regarding my previous post yesterday, I found out where my daughter’s graduation picture was delivered and went to pick it up this morning.
‘It was a tracked item with our correct address and the lady had signed for it anyway.
“She handed it back to me and said she’d opened it and ripped up the photo. I can’t believe it. It was my daughter’s graduation photo that we’d paid £30 for. I’m not going to name names, but my daughter is crying.”
She warned: ‘If you receive someone else’s email, please be nicer than this lady has been.’
The mother also shared a screenshot of a follow-up post she made on Facebook, where local residents rallied to support her and condemn the neighbor’s actions.
One person wrote: “Oh my god! Did they break it on purpose? I hope you can get a replacement under the circumstances. Maybe you should call the company and explain something.”
The mother confirmed: “Yes it was. She denied receiving it at first but when I showed her the Royal Mail photo she said she had received it and gave me the hard brown wrapper saying she had opened it.
“I left and when I looked there was no picture in the frame and it was obvious that it had been removed. So I came back and she told me that she had torn up the picture and gave it to me.”
The mother also shared a screenshot of a follow-up post she made on Facebook, where local residents rallied to support her and condemn the neighbor’s actions.
Shed added: “I asked her why she would do that and she just slammed the door in my stunned face.”
Another community member said: “This is disgusting! I am sorry this happened! Please report her name and shame her! This is disgusting behaviour.”
The post has generated over 6,000 reactions as Reddit users expressed their shock, with one writing: ‘“So the neighbor took the photo out of the frame to smash it? That guy is crazy,” while another agreed, commenting: “That neighbor is crazy.”
Another said: “No, it’s not really your typical nonsense. That woman needs to at least have eggs thrown at her house.”
A third raged: ‘I’d be naming and shaming that bitch from the ROOFTOPS, it’d be on the local news!’
Another wrote: ‘So she took your package, opened it even though it wasn’t addressed to her, kept the frame and broke the photo! She didn’t offer to replace it, this is theft and criminal damage!’
Another person advised: ‘I would complain to Royal Mail, ask for another photo and report the neighbour to the police for opening mail not addressed to him with malicious intent and perhaps even damaging property.’
Meanwhile, a A couple at war with their ‘crazy’ neighbour have put up a clothesline to block the five cameras the woman has allegedly pointed at their home in retaliation.
Megan Reid, who is believed to be living in the US, took to TikTok to share a video of her fiancé climbing a ladder to install the clothesline, on which they hung sheets to prevent their neighbour from seeing them.
“When your crazy neighbor has five cameras pointed at your front door/entryway… you put up a clothesline,” she captioned the clip.
