Underworld reveals the situations in which you should always lie to protect yourself–and when women are most vulnerable

Underworld has revealed the most important situations in which you should always lie to protect yourself.

Dana Eve, from the US, has degrees in psychology and criminology and cautioned against telling a stranger that you are alone in a public place because lonely women become easy targets for assault and kidnapping.

Dana encouraged people to lie about where they live, their relationship status, and whether or not someone is aware of their whereabouts.

The criminologist also asked the women to get in the habit of saying “no” when questioned about sensitive information.

Dannah regularly shares safety tips and how to best remove yourself from dangerous situations.

“No matter the situation or circumstances, you are never alone,” she said in a video.

“If you’re traveling or on vacation, and someone asks if you live alone — the answer is almost always no.”

“You never want to put yourself in a position where you can become an easy target—and a person who lives alone, especially a woman who is alone—is seen as a target,” she said wistfully.

A criminologist gave some examples of situations in which people should lie.

If you’re sitting at a bar having a drink, and a creepy guy approaches you and asks if you’re alone, say you’re meeting up with your boyfriend even if you’re single.

“Or, if you’re in the elevator of the building you live in and someone you don’t know asks if you live here — simply deny it.”

Dana suggested telling the stranger that you were visiting friends you went to university with, or that you had left some things for your siblings.

The professional psychologist also warned against revealing your real address to Uber and taxi drivers.

Tell them you’re visiting family friends, or you’re on your way to a surprise party.

Dana also revealed that you should never betray your lack of knowledge of an area.

“Never tell people you’re new in town, and always lie about living nearby if someone asks.”

The woman said it’s important to practice saying “no” because someone can always surprise you.

“Practice makes perfect — sometimes you don’t necessarily react the way you want to react.”

“But if you think about it and practice it a few times, it becomes second nature to you.”

Many thanked Dana for her safety tips – while also sharing some helpful practices of their own.

If you think someone is following you while driving, don’t go home – go to the police station instead.

“I have an old pair of men’s shoes on my front porch.”

“I always share my location with my parents and friends just in case.”

“When I was living alone, my dad would record the message on my answering machine.”

If people ask me weird, random questions, I always start speaking French and act puzzled.
