An “underrated” film with a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score is being hailed as “the new Yellowstone.”
LaRoy, Texas viewers are thrilled that the crime comedy “checks all the boxes” after seeing the film.
LaRoy, Texas hit our screens in the UK in June 2023 at the Tribeca Film Festival and was subsequently released by Brainstorm Media in the US on April 12, 2024.
The blockbuster, which lasts one hour and fifty minutes, follows the story of a man named Ray (John Magaro) who is mistaken for a hitman and ends up in trouble.
Stars such as Steven Zayn, Dylan Baker, Megan Stevenson, Matthew Del Negro and Brad Leland are also featured.
LaRoy, Texas was written and directed by Shane Atkinson.

It is produced by John Magaro, Caddy Vanasirikul, Sébastien Aubert and Jeremy Guiraud.
LaRoy, Texas ultimately received a 100 percent rating on the review site Rotten Tomatoes.
There have been many positive reactions to the film online, which has been compared to the Coen brothers and the neo-Western drama Yellowstone.
One said: ‘Fantastic direction. Perfect casting. Outrageous cinematography. Not as gruesome as Yellowstone.”
Meanwhile, others have just commented on how much they enjoyed watching it.
Another said on Rotten Tomatoes: ‘Unpredictable fun and gore for color. We loved the quirkiness of it from a story standpoint, and Steve Z. is always worth checking out. Feverish dreamlike, the film draws you in like a spider and weaves a beautiful web.’
A third chimed in: “Refreshing. It will definitely keep you on your toes.”
‘Great story, great acting! Fantastic movie,” wrote a fourth.

Another chimed in: “A modern western, with guts and a touch of dark comedy. Think south Fargo without the Minnesota dialect.
‘The actors are perfect for their respective roles.
“I enjoyed the ending, but I could easily be convinced it could have been better.”
A sixth added: ‘I laughed! A lot of! A very entertaining dark comedy. Every actor plays their role perfectly. I’m looking forward to watching it again!’
While others commented on the similarities of LaRoy, Texas to the Cohen brothers.
One simply said: ‘It looked like the Cohen brothers’ films.’
Another said: ‘Great movie, Cohen Brother style.’
‘Really excellent. Surprisingly good and very Cohen-brotherish. This strange, dark crime comedy ticks all the boxes and ends as strong as it begins.
‘Yes, it’s absurdly unlikely, but it’s so much fun that you quickly forget the destination and just enjoy the ride. The entire cast is excellent and the direction and writing are absolutely brilliant,” admitted a third.

It comes after Yellowstone fans all said the same thing following the recent shocking finale.
The beloved program premiered in 2018 and now has 53 episodes in five successful series.
Yellowstone ended in 2022.
Fans were thrilled when it was revealed that there would be two spin-offs, including 1883 and 1923.
The season episode of prequel 1923 will continue in February this year.
