Ulrika replied, ‘Oh my god. I do not even know. Look, I don’t remember these things Vicky. I had a date with – this is before I was even famous, so I don’t know how this happened – a date with Sylvester Stallone’s brother.”
Vicky then interrupted him to say, “F*** off. That’s so good. Is he handsome?’
Ulrika explained: ‘I worked as a secretary. I was about 20 years old, and he was a guest on the program. He wants, let the showbiz section know that he wants me out.

She added: “It goes back to that thing when you work in that environment, celebrities are coming in all the time. You feel like you belong somewhere. You get a little carried away with it, I think.’

Elsewhere in the interview, Ulrika recounted all of her time on the show Gladiators, nearly three decades later, revealing the steamy antics the cast would pull off off-camera.
Insisting that there was a lot of bed hopping between shows, the host revealed that a female star had been caught sleeping with four different people and that the girls would be forced to glue their lycra tights to their rears because the outfits they were wearing had to wear were so skinny.
On the podcast, the conversation soon turned to Ulrika’s first attempt at presenting, where she landed the gig on the show Gladiators in 1992.
YOUNG: She admitted she was a little “naive” when she accepted the dinner invitation and that he told her colleagues at work that he liked her before asking her out
The beloved series was a sports entertainment game show in which audience members had to compete against a Gladiator – an elite athlete – in a series of physical challenges to reach the final round, The Eliminator, and be crowned the champion.
Vicky was eager to hear all the juicy details about what was happening backstage, and she didn’t hold back when she said to Ulrika, “Gotta ask, was everyone fucking on Gladiators?”
Ulrika was happy to spoil Vicky and replied, “Apparently. Not me… I was writing my rules, I mean learning my rules. Apparently, the first year we did it… [the cast] took up an entire floor in the hotel – lots and lots of jumping from bed to bed.’
Ulrika revealed that one of the show’s female stars, whom she declined to name, once confessed to sleeping with four different people in one night.
Steamy: Elsewhere in the interview, Ulrika presented all of her time on the show Gladiators, nearly three decades later, revealing the steamy antics the cast would pull off off-camera (pictured above with Hunter (L) and Trojan (R) in 1994 )
She continued: ‘There was a female gladiator, someone picked her up – she should remain nameless – they said, ‘F**king hell, what was it… your f**king five people… coming and left your room last night.’
“She went,” No. Four,” Ulrika revealed jokingly: ‘Maybe you’ll just stop at no?’
The mother-of-four added that the hotel hosting the stars had to stop them from using fake tan, as it would “ruin” the sheets on the bed in their rooms.
Ulrika was romantically linked to one of Gladiators’ male stars, Hunter – real name James Crossley, and although the couple initially denied they were involved, Ulrika wrote about their relationship in her autobiography, Honest, released in 2003.
They dated back to 1996, with Ulrika admitting she was “in love” with her ex-beau.
Wow! The host insisted there was a lot of bed hopping between shows and revealed that one female star was caught sleeping with four different people
While chatting with Vicky, Ulrika revealed that Hunter was only 22 years old when they first started dating, praising the former bodybuilder for being the “sweetest man.”
“Of course I dated Hunter for about a year and a half and off the show he was amazing and the sweetest, sweetest man,” she said. “He was only 22 when I think I got together with him. Poor boy.’
Looking back at the show, Ulrika also revealed that the female stars would be forced to glue their lycra tights to their rears to avoid riding up.
The female Gladiators, including former British swimmer Sharron Davies who appeared in the series as the alter-ego Amazon, were known for their scantily clad sports equipment in which they would compete.
Ulrika revealed: ‘The female gladiators had to stick the outfits on their buttocks because the costumes were so small. They would disappear and if they were wrestling you could catch a crush.’
“It was so sexually charged, but a family show,” Ulrika added, admitting she felt “so uncomfortable” in outfits she had to wear as a presenter.
“In the first series they wanted me in a leotard and leggings and I felt so uncomfortable. I also had a push-up bra so I looked sporty,” she said.
“The second year I said to the tailor, ‘I feel so uncomfortable about this. Put me in something that flows, or whatever.”
In addition to both male and female Gladiators, the show also had its own cheerleading squad known as the G-Force.
Gladiators ran on ITV for eight years between 1992 and 2000, with Ulrika serving as the show’s main presenter, alongside former footballer John Fashanu and Jeremy Guscott, who replaced John for a year between 1997 and ’98.
Since then, Ulrika has appeared as a team captain in the BBC Two series Shooting Stars and starred in a number of reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, Celebrity Masterchef and First Dates Hotel in 2019.
Most recently, fans have seen Ulrika have her way in the third series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins from ex-military soldier Ant Middleton.
She joined former Geordie Shore star Vicky on the series, as well as Kerry Katona, Ore Oduba, Jake Quickenden, James Cracknell and Alexandra Burke.
Ulrika had to withdraw from the series early due to medical reasons, having struggled to recover from a case of mild hypothermia she contracted in the first episode.
