Ukrainian Forces Gain on Kherson as Russia Says It Has Completed Retreat

Ukrainian troops moved into the southern city of Kherson on Friday, when Russian troops said they had withdrawn from the regional capital in one of the biggest symbolic defeats to the Kremlin since it began its invasion.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his late Thursday night speech that Ukrainian forces had recaptured 41 settlements as they advanced toward Kherson, the only regional capital Russia had taken since February.
