Ukrainian soldiers battle with Putin’s troops IN Russia: sabotage group opens fire in border village as Zelensky engages enemy
Russian troops are battling a Ukrainian sabotage group in the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, after the group took people hostage at a store, Russian news agencies reported Thursday.
‘A group of Ukrainian saboteurs infiltrated two villages and took local residents hostage in one. Soldiers from Rosgvardia clashed with the militants,” TASS quoted an anonymous source at the Russian security services as saying.
Reuters news agency said it could not immediately verify the reports.
The RIA news agency quoted local emergency services as saying several people had been taken hostage at a shop in the village of Lubechanye, less than a kilometer from Russia’s border with Ukraine.
Earlier, a Russian regional official had said that a Ukrainian “sabotage group” shot and killed one person after they entered Russia from Ukraine.
“Today, a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group has entered the Klimovsky district of Lubechanye village. Saboteurs shot at a moving car.
“As a result of the attack, one resident was killed and a 10-year-old child was injured,” Bryansk governor Alexander Bogomaz wrote on his Telegram channel.
He said Ukrainian forces had also launched a drone strike and fired artillery shells at other areas near the border.
