And while it may take some time to confirm larger votes, the council’s first results could come shortly after midnight.
There will be a steady trickle of results throughout the night, with Hartlepool, Sunderland, Bolton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Portsmouith, Southen-on-Sea and Exeter councils expected to be revealed before 3am

However, more important votes, such as the mayoral and PCC elections, will take longer, and Londoners will have to wait until Saturday for the mayoral election result to be confirmed.
