No Octagon? No problem for Paige VanZant.
Appearing for Dana White’s other company, Power Slap, the controversial combat sports promotion that gifts opponents with unhindered punches to the face, VanZant fought her way to a first victory.
VanZant shook off four unprotected slaps to the face from Christine Wolmarans, and the former UFC fighter’s opponent received an extra slap to try and even the score with her OnlyFans adversary.
VanZant’s first hit didn’t seem to faze the Wolmarans. His next two visibly did, sending his opponent to a knee in the second and third rounds after a stumble.
VanZant never showed any visible damage from Wolmarans’ attacks, mockingly shaking her head after the first two attacks and then walking away in celebration after the third.
VanZant looked impressive in her Power Slap debut with a win over Christine Wolmarans
VanZant taunted her opponent on multiple occasions and showed no damage in the fight.
VanZant’s move to Power Slap is her latest attempt to find success in a combat sport other than the UFC.
The bantamweight has not fought in the UFC since a July 2020 loss to Amanda Ribas, where she was submitted in the first round.
VanZant had previously appeared in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and YouTuber KSI’s MisFits Boxing promotion.
VanZant even tried her hand at professional wrestling with All Elite Wrestling in 2021 and 2022. During a memorable segment, she knocked out veteran Chris Jericho.
After a successful Power Slap debut, it appears VanZant, 30, has found her next adventure in combat sports, even if that’s not all she’s doing these days.
She has a podcast with her husband and fellow MMA fighter Austin Vanderford, and still creates content for Onlyfans.
VanZant revealed in February that she was offered $50,000 on her OnlyFans account to cut her hair and mail it to one of her subscribers.
VanZant charges $9.99 a month for access to her Onlyfans account. Last September, VanZant said she made more money from a fan day than in her entire wrestling career.
