Dana White has detailed his Covid experience after contracting the virus while celebrating Thanksgiving with his family.

The UFC president held a party with his extended family in Maine and revealed that nearly everyone in attendance had contracted the virus.

He told the Jim Rome Podcast“We just went to my house in Maine and for Thanksgiving we’re going up there, and somebody had it, and we’re coming back, and we’ve all tested positive for COVID.

“Literally the whole family and my family in Maine too.”

‘We came back on Saturday. On Sundays I dive and steam cold every day,” adds White, who says he is fully vaccinated.

“So I come out of the cold plunge and steam, and I spray the eucalyptus and I was like, ‘What the hell?’ I couldn’t smell anything. So I opened the bottle and started sniffing the bottle of eucalyptus, and I couldn’t smell and I thought, ‘I know what this means.’ I literally got out of steam and grabbed my phone and called Joe Rogan.

‘I get up at 9 o’clock on Monday morning and get tested. He said you need to get monoclonal antibodies ASAP, so I did. By noon I had the monoclonal antibodies in me. Then he told me to do a NAD IV. I did that right after.

‘The next day – so Sunday at 8 o’clock in the evening I have no taste or smell. I get up on Tuesday to get ready to shave. When I was cleaning my razor, I smelled the alcohol. My taste and smell were back by 11am the next day. Then I took a dose of ivermectin. Then yesterday I did a vitamin drip and today I’m doing another NAD drip.

‘Never felt better. I feel like a million dollars. I’ll be doing two workouts a day for the next 10 days while I have COVID and quarantine. I got my smell and taste back in less than 24 hours.’

White, of course, has to self-isolate under Covid protocols and insists he contacted his friend Rogan through a doctor, as the commentator and podcaster had been given information from “experts.”

White continued, “You’re supposed to stay at home and away from other people for 10 days.

‘That’s what I’m doing. But I’m attacking this thing with the methods Rogan learned from some very smart people. I will continue to test every two days until I am negative and then go back to work as soon as possible.

“I hope (I can attend the UFC on ESPN 31 on Saturday). If I test negative, I will definitely be there, positive.

“I’m going to do the exact protocol that needs to be done and make sure I’m clean and can be out and about again.”

The UFC prospered during the height of the pandemic by moving fights to Abu Dhabi and continuing to function while many other sports organizations were forced to close shop.

Most events now take place in the US, but there is optimism that a return to Europe will take place next year, with London slated to host a card in March.
