UFC on ESPN 56 video: Carlos Ulberg extends streak, KOs Alonzo Menifield in 12 seconds

Carlos Ulberg he punched his ticket to the light heavyweight rankings on Saturday with a standout performance against Alonzo Menifield in UFC on ESPN 56

Ulberg (9-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) needed just 12 seconds to catch and severely shake an incoming Menifield (15-4-1 MMA, 8-4-1 UFC). It was a frenetic scene, but a few more punches and the light heavyweight fight at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis was over before many people realized it had started.

It was tied for the third-fastest finish in 205-pound history, and you can watch the replay below (via x):

Ulberg’s performance extended his winning streak to six fights. He will likely have a spot in the official UFC rankings next week, and he said he will come for the top 10 names.

“We were expecting something like that, and he caught me, but you wake up a lion,” Ulberg said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping. “I know I’m classified now. … Whoever is in that top 10, I will destroy anyone who gets in my way.”
