UFC chief Dana White says Conor McGregor wants to talk to Khabib Nurmagomedov about Nate Diaz trilogy
“He’s focused on Khabib. He wants the Khabib fight ‘: UFC chief Dana White reveals Conor McGregor directs rematch with Nurmagomedov about trilogy confrontation against Nate Diaz
- Conor McGregor desperately wants to avenge the defeat of Khabib Nurmagomedov
- He successfully returned to action with a 40 second win over Donald Cerrone
- There was talk in the coming months about a possible third fight against Nate Diaz
- But Dana White says McGregor focuses on including Khabib in the next game
Conor McGregor is “focused on the next fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov,” said UFC President Dana White.
There has been unbridled speculation about the identity of McGregor’s next opponent after his 40-second demolition of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone last month.
The possibility of a third Nate Diaz fight was discussed, especially with Khabib who was busy differently and defending the lightweight title against Tony Ferguson in April.
Conor McGregor then focuses on fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov, says Dana White
Khabib filed McGregor at the UFC 229 main event in October 2018
But it seems that the Irishman only has eyes for the Russian, who completely defeated him in 2018.
‘I do not know [about a third fight with Diaz being next], “White told BT Sport. “He’s focused on Khabib. He wants the Khabib fight. “
McGregor has often expressed his desire to treat this year as a “season” and to engage in three or four fights before 2021.
But White believes he will be sidelined until Khabib is available to put him in a rematch, provided he finds his way past Ferguson.
Asked if he believes McGregor will wait for his time, White added: “I do. But you never know with him. We will see.
White thinks McGregor can stay outside until after the collision of Khabib with Tony Ferguson in April
THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL OPPONENTS OF MCGREGOR:
Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal, Kamaru Usman
Khabib Nurmagomedov, Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Nate Diaz
Alexander Volkanovski, Max Holloway
“But I don’t have any answers for you about him now. I mean, he really just fought, you know what I mean? And he doesn’t look at Khabib and Tony to see what happens. “
Despite McGregor’s clear desire to prove himself against Dagestani’s unbeaten champion, Khabib is unwavering in his refusal to take the rematch.
He wants the Dubliner to deserve a shot at him and will not be tempted by the huge payday that is offered.
“I’m surprised people even ask me about a rematch,” he said recently. “I did everything I wanted, he even gave up.
“How can we even discuss a rematch?
Khabib remains undefeated in the octagon and has no interest in the fight against McGregor
“Everyone saw what was happening in the octagon [versus McGregor]. I checked the fight at every step.
“I did everything I wanted, he even gave up. How can we even discuss a rematch? We are only talking about continuing the festivities and making money. “
When re-examined whether he was interested in the second fight with McGregor, he said, “Not at all,” before a reporter intervened, “What about $ 100 million?”
“Why do I need that kind of money,” Khabib added. “There are so many organizations, for example. There is not only football for the blind, there is sambo, other sports. Let the UFC give it to them if they don’t know what to do with the money. But give me $ 100 million to beat that idiot up again? I don’t think that is rational. ”
