UFC 286 results: Leon Edwards defeats Kamaru Usman by decision

No last minute kick was needed this time. leon edwards delivered an offense filled with powerful leg kicks and scored the majority decision win over kamaru usman to successfully defend the UFC welterweight title at UFC 286 in London on Saturday night. Scorecards read 48-46, 48-46 and 47-47.

Edwards, backed by the support of a home crowd, shredded the former champion throughout, landing clean shots and avoiding much of Usman’s trademark offense.

Usman had several bright spots throughout the fight, rattling the champion with punches, but it wasn’t enough to get the job done. This second loss to Edwards changes his position in the welterweight division, but he was resilient after the fight and expressed optimism that he will meet Edwards again.

“London, you’re a great guy and a great champion,” Usman said after the fight.
