Ubisoft has laid off 60 employees from its offices in North Carolina and Newcastle, UK. The layoffs appear to have largely centered on the company’s customer service department. Some employees who have been laid off have tweeted what happened to them and some revealed that the layoffs came without any indication at all.
In a statement, the company said these layoffs are part of its attempt to bring about some organizational changes that would allow it to focus on providing consistent player support.
According to the description that came after the layoff, Ubisoft’s customer service team is working to develop the organization in general to focus on making the company at a better level in terms of supporting players and organizing the company better, and Ubisoft said in the statement that it “appreciates that due to organizational changes, it can 60 team members from our offices in North Carolina in the US and Newcastle in the UK are affected.”
