Australians will soon be able to score a free bottle of French-inspired alcoholic ginger beer – simply by showing an app on their phone.

Uber Eats and Australian icon Bundaberg Distilling Company have joined forces to release a limited edition bottling – Maison de Bundy’s Blanc de Cane – making the legendary ‘sugar cane champagne’ nickname a reality.

A nod to Europe’s famous wine-growing houses, the gorgeous bottle is adorned with an accentuated gold-tone label on a midnight black background featuring the brand’s iconic polar figure in the center rosette.

The new four percent alcoholic beverage commemorates Bundaberg’s new alcoholic ginger beer, made with Queensland white cane sugar and Bundaberg Ginger Beer, as well as the new launch of premium alcoholic beverages on Uber Eats.

Limited to a run of just 1,000, the unique 640ml glass bottle will be available for free for Uber Eats customers to enjoy at The Civic Hotel in Sydney, The Sporting Globe in Melbourne and Leonards and Dawn in Brisbane on Friday, 10 and Saturday 11 June .

Customers simply need to go to the venue and show their Uber Eats app to the bar staff at the venues from 5pm on Friday to toast the upcoming weekend.

Those who can’t make it to one of the three pickup points can get a 30 percent discount on select Bundy products on Uber Eats from Thursday, June 9 through Monday, June 13.

“Bundy has always been popularly known as ‘sugar cane champagne’ and now thanks to Uber Eats we are able to get sugar cane champagnes in special bottles that warrant a special Aussie celebration,” said Sarah Watson, Bundaberg Rum’s award-winning master blender.

Uber Eats General Manager of Retail, ANZ, Lucas Groeneveld, added: “We know Bundy is affectionately known throughout Queensland as ‘sugar cane champagne’, so we’re thrilled to have been able to partner with Bundy to create this exclusive item.

“Although the name is ironic, the product is world-class in every way.”

Those 18 and older who want to sample the limited edition bottling can show their Uber Eats app to the bar staff at these locations on Fridays from 5 p.m. Blanc de Cane from Maison de Bundy will be available until it is sold out.

A small range of bottles will also be available through Bundaberg’s membership platform.
