- The cinematic clip shows the raw power of both heavyweights in Los Angeles
- The promo video has already been viewed more than 150 million times on social media
This is no ordinary matting and sparring video. This is probably the most brilliant and dramatic sports promo ever filmed.
With just weeks away from their highly anticipated fight, we see world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and UFC legend Francis Ngannou going hammer and tongs in training for their Battle Of The Baddest crossover in Riyadh on October 28.
A thunderclap to kick off the mega-sales of a clash that some dismiss as somewhere between a curiosity and a circus act, but which is nevertheless the biggest bang for our buck in the history of martial arts.
The promo video has already been viewed more than 150 million times and it’s easy to see why it’s getting so much attention.
The video begins with the sun setting over Los Angeles, before a seismic thud, akin to a Jurassic Park, shakes the palm trees that tower over nearby roads.

There we saw one of our protagonists, Ngannou, rudely awakened by yet another earth-shattering thud, before realizing it’s not a tyrannosaurus rex that’s causing it.
Instead, it’s Morecambe’s own lofty giant Tyson Fury causing the shockwaves as he smashes a medicine ball into a gym wall, leaving huge cracks in the brickwork.
Unimpressed, Ngannou gets up wearing his silk pajamas and starts working himself.
As Fury tucks into a full English breakfast, the table begins to shake, causing the plate of food, cutlery and condiments to dance to the edge of the table as the Cameroonian-born heavyweight battles it out.
Fury retaliates, his powerful rapid punches to the bag simultaneously cracking the bathroom tiles behind Ngannou’s head as he relaxes in an ice bath.

It turns out that the shaking vibrations come from Fury throwing a medicine ball against a brick wall in the gym, causing it to crack

In response, Ngannou goes to great lengths to disrupt Fury during his downtime in Los Angeles

More powerful links from the Gypsy King cause a parking lot windows to shatter as Ngannou heads to his vehicle, leaving the UFC icon outraged as a bobblehead version of Fury on the dashboard of a car mocks him.
And as it hilariously transitions to the heavyweight champion enjoying himself at a karaoke bar, Ngannou claps back again.
This time it’s a sledgehammer to the floor that spoils the party for Fury, leading to a crescendo as the iconic Hollywood sign on Mount Lee begins to crumble.
The trailer does a fantastic job of showing the raw power that will be on display in Riyadh this month and the fact that it has gone viral shows the growing interest in what is yet another crossover fight within the squared circle.
It will be one night in the Saudi Arabian desert that will make the Gypsy King another hundred million dollars or more richer.
Nice work if you can get it. But other than that, hard work to boot.
