The Miami Dolphins' struggles have led some to wonder if Tyreek Hill could be traded.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill doesn’t expect to go anywhere anytime soon, despite his team’s recent struggles and problem with gaining yardage in recent games.

Recent speculation on social media has left many wondering if Hill could be looking for a trade away from the 1-3 Dolphins.

In particular, there are questions about trading him back to the team that drafted him: the Kansas City Chiefs.

But Hill poured cold water on that speculation when he spoke to the media Wednesday.

“I’m just focused on the here and now,” Hill said, via Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network.

Specifically, some are wondering if a trade to the Kansas City Chiefs could be on the cards.

“We have a beautiful team here and I want to be a part of it. We have a great situation here, my family loves it, I enjoy it, the weather is great, the fans are great. We have a beautiful situation.

‘My parents always taught me to control the controllable, and I can only control to a certain extent. That said, the NFL is a business, we all know that whatever happens, happens. From now on, I would love to be here, I love being here.”

While in theory Hill and the Chiefs would be a great fit, the logistics would make acquiring the 30-year-old nearly impossible.

Kansas City only has $4.9 million in cap space for the rest of the season and would have major cap hits that would inhibit them next season.

Hill currently has a $31.9 million cap hit for this season, which drops to $27.8 million in 2025 before skyrocketing to $51.8 million in 2026.

Any discussion about trading Hill wouldn’t happen if he performed well and the Dolphins were doing well. But that is not the case.

After winning his first game of the season, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.

Backup quarterbacks Skylar Thompson and Tyler Huntley have filled in, and Thompson was injured in Week 3.

Hill has averaged just 29 yards per game in the three games since Tua Tagovailoa was injured.

As a result of Tagovailoa’s absence, Hill’s production has plummeted.

In his first game of the season against Jacksonville, he had seven receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown. In the three games since, he has totaled 10 receptions on 18 targets for just 87 yards and no touchdowns, good for a 29-yard average.

That led to frustration for Hill, which seemed to boil over on the sidelines during Monday night’s loss to the Tennessee Titans.

It’s unclear exactly when Tagovailoa is expected to return after suffering his third known concussion of his NFL career. But ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports he could return as soon as Week 8.

Who knows where Miami will be at that point, but Hill will most likely be with the Dolphins as he hopes to get back on track.

He will have the opportunity to do so against another struggler, the New England Patriots, on the road this Sunday.
