TV star Ty Pennington has had a nasty health issue this week.

The Trading Spaces host was rushed to the Denver emergency room, where he was intubated after having trouble breathing due to an abscess.

The scare came just after attending the Barbie premiere.

The 58-year-old design genius took to Instagram on Friday to post pictures from his hospital bed.

‘From the red carpet, to ICU… this last week has been interesting!’ he started the caption of it.

“I’m fine now, still recovering, but I felt like it looked weird that I hadn’t posted about my #BOTB VICTORY teams!”

“On Sunday I hit the red carpet for @barbiethemovie, on Monday I flew to Colorado to start filming in Breckinridge and on Tuesday morning I woke up at 4am and could barely breathe.

‘It turns out that the sore throat I’ve had for the last month was actually an abscess that had grown so large that it was blocking my airway. The next thing I knew, I was intubated and transferred to the ICU in Denver.

“On Wednesday they operated on me and yesterday afternoon they released me from the ICU.”

He then thanked the ‘incredible staff’ at St. Anthony’s in Lakewood, CO and Summit Health in Frisco for taking such good care of him.

‘A great reminder to LISTEN to your body when it tells you something #justhappytobehere.

“Plus, even through heavy sedatives, it’s nice to see I was still in the right frame of mind… (pic 4) #speedosforlife.”

Pennington is involved in improving the pink pad and is working with Alison Victoria of Windy City Rehab.

The show will premiere on July 16, 2023.

Pennington is a happily married man.

In 2021, he officially married Kellee Merrell.

The star and the 35-year-old beauty tied the knot during an intimate ceremony held at their home in Savannah, Georgia.
