Two-year-old girl dies following Halls Gap car crash

Emergency services responded to reports of an e-scooter crash on Hobart Street, Ringwood, around 7am on February 2.

The exact circumstances of the accident are currently unknown.

The motorcyclist was treated at the scene by paramedics and later taken to hospital in a critical condition. Police reported on Friday that the man died in hospital on Thursday.

Victoria’s first two road fatalities for March were also recorded on Thursday due to two separate incidents.

An 82-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Brunswick West.

The man from Brunswick West was crossing the road at the junction of Hope Street and Melville Road at around 9:45am on Wednesday when he was hit by a Ford Ranger.

He was taken to hospital but died Thursday morning.

Also on Thursday, a female passenger was killed in a crash at Point Cook.

Officers said they were alerted to a vehicle traveling erratically on Princes Freeway around 1pm, but it quickly drove away when they attempted to intercept it.

Police said the interception was called off when officers lost track of the car and crashed into a barrier on Forsyth Road shortly afterwards.

A female passenger died on the spot. The driver, a 35-year-old Wyndham Vale man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is under police guard.
