Two police officers were reportedly stabbed before their alleged attacker was shot dead in a terrifying incident in a small South Australian town.
Police said they were responding to a “high-risk incident” in Crystal Brook, in the center of the state, just after noon on Wednesday.
Ambulance personnel are currently on the scene after reports of several injuries.
An officer had to be airlifted to hospital after suffering serious stab wounds, believed to be in his neck, The Advertiser reported.

It is clear that the second officer suffered minor stab wounds.
The incident is believed to have occurred in a house in the town, which has a population of 1,322 according to the 2021 census and is about 200 km north of Adelaide.
Police are believed to have been called to the house in connection with the owner’s husky.
