Two police officers were injured while chasing a suspected shooter.

The man allegedly confronted police with a gun at a property in Katandra West, near Shepparton in northern Victoria, on Monday afternoon before fleeing the scene in a car, sparking a police chase.

The officers lost control of their vehicle and rolled over a short time later on Creighton Road.

Both officers suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for observation.

Police said the shooter then stopped at a home in Youanmite and fled in another car.

The manhunt for the shooter continues.
