A shooting in an apartment complex for seniors left two people dead and another three injured.
The shots were fired Thursday afternoon at the Portstewart apartments in Caldwell, Idaho, police said.
Responding officers found several victims on the spot, with a police officer among the wounded and the suspect among those who died.

Police said there was no constant threat to the public, but residents of the complex have not yet been able to return to their homes.
The officer’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. It was not immediately clear whether the wounded and dead lived in the complex at the shooting.
“We’re still early in the investigation and information is still very preliminary,” said Caldwell police lieutenant Joey Hoadley.
Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue said: ‘It’s a stable situation now.
The shots were fired Thursday afternoon at the Portstewart apartments (photo) in Caldwell, Idaho, police said.
‘The tragedy that goes with it, there is a lot to digest for the public and for us too. So it will take some time to work everything through. ”
Witnesses said that according to KTVB police, they saw several police officers roaming around around 4:30 pm.
Caldwell is part of the metropolitan area of Boise in Idaho and has approximately 54,000 residents.
