A pair of NBA players got into an ugly altercation during an international game on Saturday.

In the midst of France’s 90-66 friendly victory over Germany, France’s Evan Fournier and Germany’s Dennis Schroder had to be separated.

During a play in the second quarter, Schroder drove to the basket and was fouled hard by Fournier.

Schröder approached his rival and placed his hands on his shoulder area.

In response, Fournier put both hands around Schroder’s neck, strangling him before his teammates and referees separated them.

Midway through the season, he was traded along with Quentin Grimes, Malachi Flynn, Ryan Arcidiacono and two second-round picks to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks.

Meanwhile, Schroder is about to enter his second season with the Brooklyn Nets.
