& # 39; Beaten black and blue & # 39 ;: two policemen are repeatedly beaten and kicked by two men after answering a welfare check

Two police officers were brutally attacked by two men while performing a wellness check.
Both policemen, men and women, were beaten and kicked repeatedly in a house on Collingwood Road in Newport, located in southwestern Melbourne.
The police were responding to a welfare check in the neighborhood when the situation got out of control after midnight.

Two police offers were brutally attacked in a house on Collingwood Street in Newport.
Both suffered facial injuries and blows to their arms and legs.
A 40-year-old man was arrested and remains under police supervision in a hospital.
"No one wants to go to work and come home injured in black and blue," said Wayne Gatt of the Victoria Police Association at 7News.
Opposition leader Matthew Guy promised to focus on establishing another 4000 Taser units for the police.
The parliament will approve next week the legislation to guarantee the terms of the jail to any person guilty of assaulting the workers of the emergency services.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight when the police were conducting a welfare check.
Outside the house, two men repeatedly beat and kicked the police officers.
