Mr. Khan is half of the glamorous couple behind Modco Residential, a housebuilding company that went into administration in July 2023.

Police believe up to two suspected knife attackers targeted Mr Khan as he waited at a red light.

He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with leg injuries and has since been discharged.

One man, Pham Dang Nguyen, 41, has already been charged for his alleged role in the incident.

The Bayswater man was charged with one count of unlawful wounding and one count of common assault.

Another 37-year-old man from Dianella was also charged with one count of unlawful wounding and one count of common assault after being arrested on Friday.

Mr. Nguyen has yet to plead guilty and was denied bail by the courts. Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.

He will appear in court again via video link on 20 September.

Dianella’s man is due to appear in court on Saturday.

Mr. Khan and his wife, Cynthia Lu, launched Modco in August 2020, promising 20-week turnaround times for construction projects.

After the builder announced it had run out of money, workers claimed they were still owed payment and work was left half-finished across the city as clients dealt with insurance claims.

During the height of the couple’s construction career, they reported gross sales of $80 million from 84 clients within a year of launching Modco Residential.

Around 50 creditors were left with $4 million in arrears, including Lu herself, who said that as a major shareholder, she was left with $2.1 million in arrears.
