Airlines EasyJet and British Airways have announced the launch of new flight routes to the ‘beautiful’ capital.

Both airlines will add flights to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, to their schedules, a city described by EasyJet as “known for its history, culture and natural beauty.”

These will be the first direct routes from the UK to Georgia since Wizz Air cancelled its flights to Kutaisi at the beginning of the Covid pandemic four years ago, reports the Independent.

In a statement, easyJet praised the city’s “picturesque old town,” as well as its “lively arts scene” and “historic sulphur baths.”

The airline claims that Tbilisi is considered an “untapped and affordable holiday city”.
