Cleveland police were involved in an unexpected high-speed chase Saturday after two police horses fled down the road.
Video obtained by the Ohio Department of Transportation showed a pair of police horses weaving in and out of traffic near the unit’s stables at 12:15 p.m.
In separate images from the opposite angle, the brave horses were seen trotting west in the east lane.
The two daring animals eventually stopped traffic on Interstate 90 in the downtown Cleveland area, as footage showed bewildered drivers stopping their lanes.
Police cruisers were seen chasing the stallions as they headed down an access ramp before disappearing out of sight on a side street.
The horses galloped back to the stables under the direction of a police car and an officer on foot.

“We can confirm that today during routine exercise and care, two Cleveland Police horses inadvertently strayed,” said Sergeant Wilfredo Diaz. cleveland.com.
Officers acted quickly to get the horses away from the cars and onto grass patches on the sides of the road.
Finally, they galloped back to the stables following the direction of a police car and an officer on foot.
“Mounted officers quickly recovered both horses, ensuring their safety, and no further incidents occurred,” the official said.
It is currently unknown how the ‘neighbors’ escaped, but it was reported that the four-legged colts were working with law enforcement and later escaped from police stables.
The horses were with the police when they escaped from their stables.
The escaped horses are seen trotting west in the eastbound lane of Interstate 90.
