From paid features to a major rebrand, it’s safe to say that X (formerly Twitter) has completely transformed since Elon Musk took over.

Now, the self-proclaimed ‘twit boss’ has revealed his next big change to the platform.

X will now allow people you’ve blocked to see your posts.

Although Musk says that “it’s about time for this to happen,” the change has not sat well with many users.

“I don’t want the perverts I’ve blocked to see my posts at all,” one user tweeted, while another simply said, “We don’t want this.”

While Musk claims that

While Musk says it’s “about time for this to happen,” the change has not been well received by many users.

X’s “block” feature is designed to help users control how they interact with other accounts on the platform.

“This feature helps people restrict specific accounts from being able to contact them, see their posts, and follow them,” explains X’s help page.

Currently, accounts you’ve blocked can’t follow you, see your posts, find your posts in search, send you direct messages, view your followers or following lists, likes or lists, view a Moment you’ve created, add your Account X to their lists, or tag you in a photo.

However, much of this depends on the account being logged in.

Musk has confirmed that accounts you've blocked will be able to see your posts, even if they're logged in.

“I don’t want the perverts I’ve blocked to see my posts at all,” one user tweeted, while another simply said, “We don’t want this.”

“The block only works if the account you blocked is logged into X,” X explains.

‘For example, if the account you blocked is not logged in or is accessing content X through a third party, they may be able to see your public posts.’

“It’s about time this happened. The blocking feature will prevent that account from interacting with public posts, but not from seeing them,” Musk tweeted.

“This is not good at all. A lot of people block abusive accounts for safety and security reasons in the real world. You just removed that,” one user responded to Musk.

One furious user went so far as to call the change

One angry user went so far as to call the change “Elon’s worst idea since the rebrand.”

“With all due respect, I think this is a bad idea,” one user tweeted.

‘There are many reasons why someone might not want certain people to easily see all of their public posts.

“There are some REALLY bad actors on social media, unfortunately.”

Another added: “This is not good at all. A lot of people block abusive accounts for safety and security reasons in the real world. You guys just removed that.”

And one even went so far as to call Elon’s change “the worst idea since the rebrand.”
