A popular Twitch streamer who was banned from the platform after admitting to having “inappropriate conversations” with a minor has now returned to YouTube.

Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV, better known as Dr Disrespect or The Doc, was accused by a former Twitch employee of making inappropriate contact with a minor in 2017, leading to his ban in 2020.

In a lengthy statement, the disgraced streamer said that while he had “no real intentions,” he did in fact exchange “inappropriate” messages with a minor.

Were there whisper messages on Twitch with a minor in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages? The answer is absolutely not.

‘They were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes veered too far into the inappropriate, but nothing more. Nothing illegal happened, no photos were shared, no crimes were committed, I never met the person.

‘I went through a lengthy arbitration process in connection with a civil dispute with Twitch and that case was resolved by settlement. I want to be clear: this was not a criminal case against me and no criminal charges have ever been filed against me.

“Now, from a moral standpoint, I will absolutely take responsibility. I should never have had these conversations to begin with. That’s my fault. It’s my fault as an adult, a husband and a father. It should never have happened. I get it. I’m not perfect and I will own up to my own mistakes. This was stupid,” he wrote on June 25.

But less than three months later, Beahm returned to YouTube, despite his channel being demonetized.

During her first comeback broadcast, which was watched by 230,000 people at the time of release but soon dropped to 160,000 and below, she retracted her previous statement and instead revealed another story in relation to the allegations.

Beahm told his viewers that he “had a Twitch Partner Manager with a ‘grudge’ who pulled those messages from Twitch and sent them to Twitch Trust and Safety, Twitch Legal, and others within the company with ‘out-of-context screenshots’ that eventually did indeed lead to his ban,” according to Forbes.

Ultimately, Twitch Trust and Safety concluded that the messages were not sexting and did not violate federal child exploitation laws.

The streamer also stated during the session that he did not exchange graphic sexual messages or images with the minor.

At no point did Beahm apologize or assure his viewers that he would be mindful of his future actions.

Twitch has not commented on Beahm’s latest remarks. It is also unclear whether he will be banned from YouTube in the near future.
