Twin babies & a toddler become unconscious and bleed while a man is accused of mistreatment
A 24-year-old man has been accused of the alleged mistreatment of a toddler and twin babies in the NSW Riverina region.
He is said to have attacked the two-month-old twin boys in March 2019 on various occasions and the 15-month-old boy in May 2013.
Detectives initially looked at the case in 2013 when the 15-month-old came to the hospital with bruises on the face and bleeding, police say.
They investigated but no one was charged at the time.
The police did another investigation in March this year when one of the two months old was taken to the hospital after he stopped responding.
& # 39; Officers were told by the doctors that the baby had sustained leg fractures, significant head injury, and bruises in the face & # 39 ;, the NSW police said in a statement.
Investigators were later told that the other two-month-old boy had been taken to the hospital after losing consciousness that same month.
Their investigation culminated in the arrest of the 24-year-old man on Thursday afternoon in a company in the Riverina.
He has been accused of two assault counts that cause physical injury and recklessly serious physical injury.
The man was refused the bail pending an expected appearance on Friday at Griffith Local Court. Police say the children take care of the family.
