Twelve migrants were found alive in a refrigerated truck on a motorway parking lot in Belgium – a week after 39 deaths were found in London.
The driver, who was transporting fruit and vegetables, called the police after he suspected that people were hiding in the back.
He was instructed to drive to a parking lot on the highway when 11 Syrians and a Sudanese man were found inside.
They had crawled into the vehicle and were found on Tuesday along the E34 motorway in Oud-Turnhout, near Antwerp, Belgium, according to reports in the local media.
This is because 39 migrants were found dead in a -25 refrigerated truck after crossing the Belgian port of Zeebrugge. Truck driver Mo Robinson, 25, picked up the container at a port in Essex and was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The group of twelve is in & # 39; good health & # 39; and was taken today to the Immigration Office in the city of Antwerp, a spokeswoman for the federal police told AFP.
The police are starting an investigation into how the migrants came on board and whether they wanted to come to Great Britain.

Last weekend the Belgian authorities said they had found two more trucks with 20 migrants, all alive.
Robinson charged migrants £ 30,000 for the & # 39; VIP & # 39; journey across the border and was discovered in the port of Tilbury in Essex.
He was part of an international trafficking in human beings that brought large numbers of people to Britain illegally, a court heard two days ago.
