Television news presenters from Sydney and Brisbane have fired shots ahead of Wednesday night’s Origin series opener, with Queensland coming out on top in a hilarious move.
State of Origin has arrived by 2024, with the The Blues will host Game 1 on Wednesday night in Sydney as they look to reclaim the Maroons’ shield.
7NEWS Sydney and Brisbane are throwing their support behind their respective states by wearing blue and maroon.
The New South Wales news team also put together a cheeky list of things they didn’t like about Queensland which appeared on the ticker at the bottom of the screen.

The list of 50 included things like ‘cane toads’, ‘bogan accents’ and ‘Reece Walsh’.
The Queensland news team responded by placing a similar symbol at the bottom of its report, but it only showed two words repeated 50 times: “Paul Gallen”.
