Donald Trump’s campaign has raised more than $4 million for the families of the three men killed or wounded in Saturday’s assassination attempt.
At the time of writing this article, the account number authorized by Trump GoFundMe was at $4,328,763 – more than four times its initial target of $1 million.
All donations will be divided among the families of the late firefighter Corey Comperatore, 50; David Dutch, 57; and James Copenhaver, 74, as they grieve or wait for their loved ones to recover.
Trump’s team confirmed the authenticity of the GoFundMe to The Hill, as the two living victims are said to be in hospitals in stable condition.

“President Donald Trump has authorized this account as a place to make donations to the supporters and families injured or killed in today’s brutal and horrific assassination attempt,” reads a description on the heavily trafficked website.
‘All donations will go to these proud Americans as they suffer and recover.
“May God bless and unite our nation,” he concludes.
Over 358 million people took to the comments to show their support, while an astronomical 56,500 people opened their figurative wallets.
The top donation appeared to come from former Trump donor Steve Wynn, a billionaire former casino operator who has lobbied tirelessly for the GOP front-runner.
That gift amounted to a staggering $50,000, from a man hand-picked by Trump to be finance chairman of the Republican National Committee in 2017.
In the comments, viewers expressed grief for the single life lost as a result of the shooting, as well as feelings of empathy for the still-suffering victims and their families.
Most singled out Corey Comperatore, a firefighter who was hit by one of 20-year-old gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks’ bullets as he ran to protect his family.
He was hailed as “a brave man, a patriot, a husband, son and father” and posthumously promised: “This country will always remember you.”
Currently recovering are David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, a former and retired Marine, respectively.

They were all shot by Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who somehow managed to get within just 130 yards of where the presidential hopeful was speaking in Butler. An investigation is underway.
Others pulled out the remaining two men, both seriously injured but now said to be in a stable condition.
Copenhaver, a retiree from Moon Township, Pennsylvania, was a grandfather who left behind a wife and two children.
Dutch, on the other hand, was from New Kensington and had been a former Marine.
“He’s had one surgery and is having another surgery this morning,” MCL District 8 Deputy Commander Matt Popovich wrote in a Facebook post. “He is currently in a medically induced coma.”
The outpouring of donations comes as the Secret Service faces mounting questions about how Crooks managed to get within just 130 yards of where the presidential hopeful was speaking in Butler.
The Butler resident shot Trump in the ear with an AR-style rifle his father legally purchased and was killed by Secret Service agents within seconds. An investigation is underway.
